Work aint no joke
I have been working like crazy since the beginning of the year.
I have been working 9-10 days and it is starting to take its toll on me.
I have not have any breaks between my projects. And it seems like they are all due at the same time
Just when I think I have it all under control. BAM! I get something else drop into my lap.
I have to go on a business trip next week and then fly to Chitown sometime in December. Bah Humbug! Who the hell schedules a conference in December and to make it worst—> it is in cold a$$ Chicago!
While, I am grateful that I do have a job that allows me to put two girls through college and still live comfortable. It is all starting to be a little too much. With the economy being so bad, we have a hiring freeze, so there is not extra help available right now!
Something has to give at some point. I will be on vacation the 1st week of December, so I hope that I get a chance to relax and regroup before the new year…. I hope so!!!!!!
At least there is one good thing about all of this week and stress. I don’t have time to worry about my previous breakup and all the stress that goes with it. Yeahhhhhhhh!

FYI – I wrote this on my crackberry so excuse any typos and the wacky formatting.

Friday night w/Nicky B
Earlier this week, my friend Nicole B text me asked me if I want to attend a play with her Friday. I didn’t have any plans so I told her sure no problem, just tell me when and where and I will be there. The play was being held at a old car dealership that has closed in 2008. I thought the location was pit stage but I know that the dealership did have a big enough showroom that they probably converted into a stage and sitting. It had is own parking lot, so that was a plus because there is no parking where the theater is located.
Nicole and I made plans to meet up in the parking lot at 7:30 p.m since the show started at 8 p.m. While I was on my way over, Nicole text me as said she would meet me at 8 because she was running a little late. I said fine because I probably wasn’t going to get there until 7:45 myself. I got there on time and found a parking space in the back of the lot. I noticed A LOT of people parking and going into the building.
By 7:55, Nicole was still not there. I wasn’t too worried because I figure they wouldn’t start at EXACTLY 8 p.m. Boy was I WRONG! Where I was parked in the lot, I could see inside and saw people walking around what look like it could have been the mail stage. WTF! The stage looked like it was right by the entrance to where Nicole and I would have to come in once you got there.
By 8:05, still no Nicole. Inside the theater I saw more people moving around on stage. The play was underway and I was still sitting in the parkway and I wasn’t sure where Nicole was.
At 8:13, Nicole called me as said that she was outside the gates and that a lady was telling her that we couldn’t get in because they start at EXACTLY 8 pm. No they do not run on CP *color people* time, so Nicole and I was A$$ out. We couldn’t get in…..WOW! Who would have thunk it!
But the night wasn’t ruined. We decided to stop past one of the clubs before we went home. The club wasn’t crowded so that was a plus. Nicole and I got a table and decided to order something off of the dinner menu. *yeah, this club serves so-called SOUL FOOD* When we looked at the prices we were SHOCKED! $6.95 for 4 whole chicken wings. $5.85 for loaded French fries. These prices were CAH-RAY-SEE! Who the HELL pays that much? But Nicole was hungry, so she ordered the loaded fries and figured I would eat a few off her plate. Not that I am cheap, but I just couldn’t see myself paying that much for 4 wings.
We both order a Jolly Rancher drink and sat back and listen to the music.
Soon the place started to fill out with more people. A few of my ‘friends’ came through and sit with us for few. My friend J brought our next round of drinks and then went to hang with a few of his boys. We stayed around for a little while longer and decided to check out another spot. BOY, were we in for disappointed because that next joint was EMPTY….There was no one in there but the bouncer and the D.J. Then these college kids gonna say to us that there was gonna be a college party later if we wanted to stick around.
AH! No Thank U! I have kids that are IN COLLEGE. What I look like hanging out with them?
After that, we both decided to call it a night. We agreed that we needed to this again and went on our merry ways.
I made it home within 15 minutes. When I got home, I was a little tipsy. I almost starting to drunk text the ex but decided against. I still have some dignity and pride. No way was I giving him the satisfaction. So i took my grown, sexy & very MUCH DRUNK A$$ to sleep.
Hanging with Nicky B was fun and I can’t wait to do it again.
Going to a Tyler Perry tonight and not sure what else the girls got plan so I will catch you on the other side of the weekend.
Have a good one.

Weekend Wrap-up: October 31 – Nov. 1
Hello all, I am back to my regularly scheduled weekend wrap update post. I have been lacking in posting about my weekend escapades, so without further ado, here it goes:
Saturday - I FINALLY got my truck inspected today. I took it last Saturday but I didn’t have my most recent insurance card so I had to wait another week. Boy, was I in for a shock. I knew that I needed brakes but didn’t realize that I needed tires as well – ALL 4 Tires. Ouch! Each tire was $250 a piece. Yes, I did say $250. So add that up and add in new brakes pads and rotors and the cost of the inspection and I walked out of there spending over $12oo. Good thing that is what my emergency fund is for. Even though my fund is slowly draining, I am happy to know that I had it when I needed it. Now, I need to NOT have anymore EMERGENCIES anytime soon.
In the evening, I went to a concert that was being held for the Pittsburgh Tribute to Motown 50th Anniversary. I invited one of my ‘friends’ but he had a previous engagement, so I end up going with my girlfriend and my mom. My brother was being honored at a VIP reception that was held at Atria’s prior to the concert. CONGRATULATIONS! The VIP reception was very nice and the food was GREAT.
After the reception, we made our way down to the new August Wilson African American Center to watch the concert. The concert was really nice. The singers were all Pittsburgh based and they did an excellent job singing the old songs from the last 50 years. They sang songs by the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, The Marvellettes, and more. They really put on an excellent show.
Sunday – Today, I just sat around and enjoyed the 1 oclock and 4 oclock football games. Then I watched the world Series game. Go Phillies! After that it was time to go to bed and get ready for the new workweek.
This weekend was good. I spent some time at home and also time out with friends and family. I am looking forward to next weekend. I am going out with my hairdresser *some new spot* on Friday, a Tyler Perry plan with the girls on Saturday and then going to visit a friend’s church on Sunday. It looks like it will be a busy weekend. I am sure I will have tons of stuff to talk about next week.
Until then, Always and Forever Smiling!
FYI – I was a little ticked off yesterday and that is why my post was so short, mean and sweet.
Stay out
Of my business!
Thank you and good night!

New Movie Coming Soon: Precious
I can’t wait to see this movie. I just finished reading the book PUSH, that it was based off and I really enjoy it. It was sad and inspiring all in one. I urge you to read the book PUSH by Sapphire and then see the movie.
Until then, enjoy the trailer from the movie – Precious. Coming soon to a theater near you.
Makes me realize that my life is not all that bad. I am truly thankful.
