The Chadwick!!!!!!!

After much consideration & number crunching, we decided to go with a venue that provided us with the most for our $$$$.

The one thing that we both really liked was the outdoor patio area where we can have our wedding. The space is exactly what we were looking for. I love the white chairs & Trellis that included.
If it does rain, they have an area indoors that we can hold our wedding in.

For the reception, The Chadwick offers an all-inclusive package that includes:

Hors d’Oeurve
Carved Buffet
4 hour Open bar
Wedding Cake
Centerpieces (they are exactly what I wanted)
Elevated Bridal table
Choice of sit down or buffet reception
any many more great things…

The original date that we were interested in is already booked so we choose April 7, 2012 for our wedding date. Since this day is prior to Easter (4/8/12), we qualify for a 15% discount off our bill. Woo HOO!

This discount will allow is to get a few extra and still fit into our budget. YES!

We still need to sign our contract so keep your finger crossed so that fits into our budget.

12K and no more…

Twelve Thousand Dollars (12,000) is our budget and I planned on sticking with it.

It maybe a tough task but I am determined to not BUST my BUDGET!

There will be a whole lot of DIY projects on my plate to get the wedding and reception that I want for that price. But I know that I can DO IT.

But they are all soooooo nice….

There are so many nice reception locations but I am having a problem determining which one of want to go with. We have narrowed our list down to the following:

- Pittsburgh Zoo (my choice)

- August Wilson Center for African American Culture (Hubby to be choice)

- The Chadwick (my 2nd choice)

All three places are really nice. But some have more bangs for the BUCKS. I love the thought of having our reception in the PPG Aquairum where we all get a chance to watch the sharks and the fish swim around the aquairum. That would make a great photo opportunity.

But I also see my hubby 2 be point about celebrating our wedding at a place that celebrates our AA hertiage. August Wilson was a wonderful playwright and I really enjoyed his plays. And he is from Pittsburgh and that is a plus. The only problem is that is an open space & I am really not that creative. Nor do I want to do all that work.

The Chadwick has it all and it seems so elegant which goes right along with our wedding theme. Annnnnnnd we can have our wedding there as well. There outdoor covered patio is just what we wanted.

Ahhh….decisions, decisions, decisions.

What should we do? Who should we pick?

Life as I know it…

Family:
My aunt passed away in Tuesday evening. Even though she is gone, I know that she is in a much better place.

Funeral is next week so I have tons of things to do before Thursday!

I am going miss her crazy butt! R.I.P Aunt Regina

Wedding:
We originally decided to have a destination wedding in Jamaica. But after thinking about it, I decided that I wanted it at home. So right now we are in the planning process – looking for venues, picking colors, gathering our guests and so on.

I will update on you every step if the way.

Work:
Busy as well. More work & not enough me to handle it all.

That’s about it but that is a whole lot.

1. I am a movie junkie. I can go to the movie to see just about anything. Most recent movie: Cowboy & Aliens. Loved it!

2. When I like a song I can play it over and over again on my IPod. Favorite song right now: Excuse Me by Jazzmine Sullivan She singing to exactly about how I feel about My Forever.

3. I hate lettuce but I eat a just a little bit in my salad. I know, I’m weird like that. Favorite salad: Streak Salad

4. My favorite actor is Sylvester Stallone. I am so in love with that man. I am so in love with that if he was ask me to marry him today, I would drop My Forever and run straight into his arms. Favorite Movie: All of the Rocky movies.

5. My favorite part that I would like to play is Adrienne in Rocky. OMG! She was one lucky actress because she got the chance to kiss him 5 out of 6 of the Rocky movies. How lucky was she? Oh boy do I wish that was me.

July 2011 Goals Update

Woooooooow….I haven’t done a monthly goals update since March 2011.   Boy how the time flies when you are having fun.     Major things have happened to me over the last 4 months.  Some good and some bad.  But in the end, I can’t complain too much.

In regards to my goals, here is where I stand:

Working out: :-( I have been a very bad girl.   I just recently started back taking Zumba on Monday and Wednesday.   And I will try to get in some strength training at least 2x week.  Wish me luck.!

Blogging: :-) I am trying to blog more…trying really hard

Spending time with family/friends: :-)   This has not been a problem. I see my family now more than ever.

Spend less, Save more:  :-(  Getting married next July in Jamaica is not going to be cheap, so I will have to make sure I chill out on any unnecessary spending for the next year.  Our trip to Florida in September will be SUPER LAID BACK…

Procrastinating: :-) I am so proud of myself….Cant afford to procrastinate with all of things going on in my work and home life.

I am going to add a new goal for the wedding since I will be spending a lot of time with the planning.  So I need to keep track of my goals for each month.

Yeah it looks like the upcoming months are going to be super busy!
