2012 Goals and Rewards
Wow….this year has gone by so fast. Well it looks like it is time for me to set some new goals for 2012. For 2012, I am going to focus on only a few goals. I have a lot coming up in 2012 (My wedding…..Yippee) that I may not have time to complete them all. So without further ado, here are my goals and rewards for 2012
1. Read 15 books by the end of year
Last year, I set a goal to read 50 books by the end of the year….Well that didn’t work. I was only able to read 11 books. It was a slow reading year for me. But for 2012, I decided to set the bar a little lower since I have so much other stuff going on. 15 books shouldn’t be that bad.
My reward – Purchase something NEW!…Can’t think of anything just yet, but I am sure, I will figure out something.
2. Run Five (5) 5k races
I ran my first 5k on Thanksgiving this year. My official time was 38:45 minutes. I want to beat this time in at least one of my races in 2012. My wedding is in April this year, so I will be busy with the planning during the 1st quarter of 2012. But I will still be running and building up my time for these upcoming races. Here are a few that I plan on signing up for:
David E Williams PTA 5k – Saturday, April 28, 2012
Pittsburgh Marathon – UPMC 5k Run: Sunday, May 6, 2012
Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure – Sunday, May 13, 2012
Run Around the Square – Saturday, August 27, 2012
My Reward – Go on a $500 shopping spree for new clothes. Woo Hoo! I know I will need some new clothes once I drop off these extra ‘love handles ‘-:)
3. Run the Pittsburgh Great Race 10k in September 2012
Yikes!!!!!! Ok, this one will be tough but I believe I will be ready to run for 6 miles in 9 months. I know I am setting the bar HIGH, but I need this to keep me going.
My reward: Treat myself to a 5 days Spa getaway in 2013. I always wanted to go to one of these places but just never did it. Now, I just need to find someone who wants to go as bad as me. I am sure it won’t be a problem.
Well that is it!…2012 is gonna be a GOOD YEAR!
