Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Got my follow up appointment tomorrow with my orthopedic doctor. I do feel much better BUT I still am experiencing problems with IT Band on both legs. I ran in a turkey trot on Thanksgiving & was able to finish but towards the end, I start feeling that all too familiar pain. it wasn’t as bad as before. But it let me know that my injury is STILL ongoing.
I rested up & ran for a mile on the treadmill on Monday & didn’t feel any pain. . I guess I need to stay in the house a little longer before I venture back outside.
Tomorrow is my last day of rehab, so I will wait to see what my doctor says before I decide to do anymore outdoor running.

I will be running in the Valentine’s Day 5 miler & 5k race.
The race will be held in North Park. The same location as my 1st race on January 7th, 2012. So I hope that the course is similar. The course wasn’t that bad. The one BIG hill at the beginning was a little tough but once I was able to get past it, it wasn’t that bad.
I hope that the weather holds up and that it is not too cold. Anything under 30 degrees and I will not be running. :-(
But we will see in 2 weeks.
The ladies over at Real Chicks Getting Fit started a challenge called Spring Chick Challenge and even though I am a few days late, I really would like to join this challenge.
Here are my focus points for the challenge:
- Commit to a NSV (non scale victory) to be assessed at the start and the conclusion of the challenge.
- Be able to run at least 6 miles
- Track my fitness and diet goals via MyFitnessPal. (username – Slimgoody05)
- 1300 calories a day
- Drink 64 0z of water daily
- Cut back on my sweets (my kryptonite)
- Commit to a set of exercise parameters. These can be as loose or as flexible as you feel work for your personality, schedule, etc.
- Exercise 5 times a week
- Strength Training at least 2x week
- Commit to blogging at least twice weekly and 1 of those times must be you check in with a complete update on your progress.
- Commit to support... both giving and receiving. Check others blogs and comment as you feel motivated to do.
The challenge started on January 2, 2012 and ends on March 19, 2012. As I said, I am few days late but since I have been doing most of these focus points, I should be fine.

130, 130, 130 and 130
Argghhhhhhhh!!! This has been my weight for my last 4 weigh – ins.
My scale has to be broke because I have been busting my butt with my work outs and have been trying to eat healthier.
But the weight is not coming off. :-(
I am not going to let it stop me. I do notice a difference in my clothes , so that is a positive.
But I still think my scale is broke. :-)
Thats my story and I am sticking with it. *For now*
Because, I need to lose 10 pounds so I can be:
Bikini Ready – Oh No…I don’t know about that one.
Booty short ready – yeah that’s a NEGATIVE.
Nope, I am back at it again trying to drop these last stubborn 10 pounds that have created a home around my middle.
Completed my first workout in over month today. *I was slacking bad* Did 45 minutes on the treadmill and 30 crunches on the abs machine.
Working out after work seems like it would be better for me because then I can go home and relax.
My cruise to the Bahamas is the 2nd week of June so I have a 2 1/2 months to my butt in shape.

Well this morning, I was on my way over to our gym to take my very first Zumba class *that class was tough* with two of my coworkers. As we were exiting our office building, both of my co-workers decided to use the handicapped door *the one that swings open with a PUSH of button, that we are NOT SUPPOSED to use* and I being the ever so dutifully employee used the rotating doors that all of the non-handicapped people are supposed to use.
Well everything was going A-OKAY in that rotating door and I was lucky enough to get out without someone pushing it EXTRA HARD from behind me. But I guess the *mean* and *bitter* lady who was entering the rotating doors was not so lucky. While I was exiting, she was entering and proceeding to get her bag stuck in the process. Both my coworkers and I look back because we heard a quick scream. I said something like, Oh shit my, her bag is stuck and all of sudden this lady went OFF *she went OFF*on me:
Mean & Bitter Lady: You could have said SORRY!
Me *looking around like who is she talking to: HUH
Mean & Bitter Lady: You b$tch, you didn’t have to push the door that hard
Me: What, I didn’t push the door, I was already out when you were going in.
Mean & Bitter Lady: Yes you did, you ignorant, siddity b$tch. I should punch you in your face…
Me: Whatever *and we continue to walk across the street to the gym*
That chick looked a little cuckoo for me so it was better for me to just let that one go. No harm, no foul is what I like to say. For those you who don’t know, I’m a LOVER and not a FIGHTER!
* Unless someone messes with my baby cubs, then all that LOVER crap is out the window and I go into Mama Bear protect mode. I would gladly catch a case in a New York minute for mines.*
Now, I have been on the end of getting PUSH too hard in those rotating doors, but I never went off on the person in front me. *well I never went off on anyone for that matter* There were people behind me that *may* have PUSH the little door a little too hard and that’s why old psycho chick- I wanna fight- chick’s bag caught. It could have been for some other reason.
Such as the Fashion Police warning her that she should NEVER EVER wearing ballet slippers, and NO socks and NO LOTION. *that’s just tacky*
Or bet yet, maybe the Coach Gods wasn’t feeling her knock off Coach purse and wanted to destroy it. *that the story I am going with J*
I honestly don’t know….and really don’t care. All I know is that I was out of the door before she even stepped inside, so I didn’t have anything to do with it.
Anyway, I did make it to my class and my heart rate was already pumping before the music even started. The next class is on Wednesday, so I am hoping that I don’t encounter anymore psycho chicks on the way.

Yesterday I started back on my workout plan. I had been slacking the last couple of months. I have regain most of my weight that I lost last year. And my clothes are starting to fit a little snug in the waist & chest area.
As of yesterday, I weigh a whopping 130 pounds..*don’t laugh, that’s a lot for me* So my goal is lost at least 10 pounds by the end of the year and then continue to maintain that weight. I also want to get my ‘guns’ back..My arms used to be on point!!!
I am working out at our gym here at work & Planet Fitness a gym that I joined on Saturday with my BFF!
Here are my goals:
* lose 10 pounds by end of year
* run up to 3 miles on treadmill by end of year
* lose extra inches in my waist & bust area
* build muscle in arms & booty tootie * need to get that bubble effect*
Wish me luck because I’m gonna need it….
